Below is a translation of one of the poems by Jesus Santrich.<\/p>\n

Marquetalia<\/h1>\n

(English Translation)<\/p>\n

The heroes of Marquetalia and those who, following his example, have defeated the colonialist perversity of the “Patriot” Plan<\/em><\/p>\n

Between gunpowder and the green of life;
\ncataclysm that turns into hope
\nby nourishing the future with the fallen …;
\nthe deep roots of consciousness
\npaying with the blood of brave people
\nbetween cities and insurgent mountains
\nwho speak with the voice of Jacobo Arenas
\nto say homeland from their insides.<\/p>\n

Marquetalia is Marulanda in conscience
\nthe announcement of the liberated homeland
\nMarquetalia is in the town in resistance
\nis Bolivar who returns with his sword<\/p>\n

The resistance is the sowing in the darkness
\nof the seeds of fire of Alborada
\nwhere Jacobo Pr\u00edas ingenia verses
\nwith words of guerrilla ambushes:
\nMarquetalia is the poem of the dawn
\nthat unleashes its socialist desires,
\nthe sacred tricolor of the flag
\nin the before, now and tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Marquetalia is Marulanda in conscience
\nthe announcement of the homeland released
\nMarquetalia is in the town in resistance
\nis Bolivar who returns with his sword<\/p>\n

Marquetalia are the grooves that frolic
\nwith the certainty of the bread for the hungry;
\nMarquetalia is the wheat field and the cornfield
\nthe news of the emancipated land;
\nMarquetalia is the crucible of hope
\nIsa\u00edas Pardo raiding the skies;
\nMarquetalia is a communal epic
\nof which the New Colombia dreams and fights<\/p>\n

Marquetalia is Marulanda in conscience

The utopia of Hernando Gonzales fulge
\nand the victory of the people is revealed:

\nfreedom and dignity are the harvest;
\nagainst the Yankee who murders and sacks us

\nde las semillas de fuego de alborada
\ndonde Jacobo Pr\u00edas ingenia versos
\ncon vocablos de emboscadas guerrilleras:

\nque desboca sus anhelos socialistas,
\nel sagrado tricolor de la bandera
\nen el antes, el ahora y el ma\u00f1ana.<\/p>\n

\ncon la certeza del pan para el hambriento;
\nMarquetalia es el trigal y la maicera
\nla noticia de la tierra emancipada;
\nMarquetalia es el crisol de la esperanza
\nIsa\u00edas Pardo asaltando los cielos;
\nMarquetalia es epopeya comunera
\ndel que sue\u00f1a y lucha la Colombia Nueva<\/p>\n
