FRIEND, CAMARADA, COMPANION
\nTo Juli\u00e1n Conrado<\/a>, singer of the insurrection<\/p>\n

I got the idea
\nto tell you something …
\nbecause you are my friend, my comrade,
\nmy partner…;
\nthe idea assaulted me
\nto express briefly loqueentiyoveo
\nand I only knew how to tell you
\nguerrilla,
\nthat…,
\ntogether the verses,
\njoin the notes,
\nyou raise your song
\nintuiting justice …
\ntearing him out of life
\nnotions of new homeland;
\nweapons in songs
\nlove messages
\nimagining the fire
\nmanager of the new man …,
\nimmense wave of the commoner example. I only knew to tell you
\nI hear in your word omens of freedom
\nthat defeat fears
\nagainst every macula of evil
\nthat intends to destroy
\nto the fisherman of our dreams …<\/p>\n

I only knew to tell you,
\nI’ve seen you approaching
\nyour old boots
\nto undertake the routes
\nof the figth
\npiggybacking
\nyour mountaineering team
\nsewn with the same hands that mark the note and hold the rifle
\nand they speak to the people
\nwhile you feel the inspiration
\nthat achieves the complementation between combat and certain love.<\/p>\n

I only knew to tell you,
\nI’ve seen you express yourself pure without rancor,
\neven if it’s your turn to pose hard … and I’ve imagined you a builder
\nof the same assault of the heavens, proclaiming
\nthe unplayable ad
\nof the terrifying peace without hunger as a dream first.
\nAnd I have known you,
\nanyway,
\nreflected in the mirror of our brief history, as a Caribbean prophet
\nthat rises with splendor
\nthe fire of steel,
\nwith the same passion
\nHow do you learn the seagull’s lament song
\nThat rocks in the wind.<\/p>\n

I only knew to tell you,
\nwithout pretty words,
\nbut as a sincere message, I feel you my friend,
\nmy comrade …
\nmy partner.<\/p>\n
