Many films have I seen on the silver screen
Of diverse ages, distant lands and oceans
First written then put into motion
Through cellulose’s spectacle sheen.
Often are those authors penmanship’s scuttled
And insights muddled or blinded completely;
Such being the case with deep-browed Homer
High jacked and low browed by Hollywood.
Incorrect like Keats context of Cortez
As if the words were utterly misunderstood.
The pit of my problem lies not with the acting
But feeling like a shadowy conspirator
When I sit silently in a large theatre
And see a great story fall like Troy’s great wall.
